Deyang Rata Technology Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the Rata 4MW RLC Combined Load Bank, a new power testing solution designed to support comprehensive testing, commissioning, and performance verification of generators, energy storage systems, and industrial power equipment. Introduced in July 2026 in Deyang, China, the containerized load bank integrates resistive, inductive, and capacitive load capabilities into a single platform for a wide range of power system applications.
The launch expands the company's portfolio of professional power supply testing solutions and provides a testing platform for industrial facilities, power generation projects, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) commissioning activities.
The Rata 4MW RLC Combined Load Bank supports a variety of electrical testing functions, including steady-state testing, regulation testing, fluctuation testing, sudden load-on testing, sudden load-off testing, harmonic analysis, and waveform recording analysis. It also enables one-click load increase and decrease operations, simplifying testing procedures under different operating conditions.
The system is designed for applications involving gas turbine generators, diesel generators, energy storage converters, UPS systems, gas-fired power plants, offshore platform power systems, factory acceptance testing, and domestic and international EPC commissioning projects. By combining resistive, inductive, and capacitive load units, the equipment supports continuously adjustable power factors from 0.8 lagging through unity to 0.8 leading, allowing engineers to simulate a broad range of reactive power conditions during testing.

The load bank provides a rated resistive load capacity of 4,000 kW and supports both 480V low-voltage and 13.8kV high-voltage systems. The integrated resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads can be adjusted independently, providing flexibility for different testing requirements. The inductive load is verified at 60 Hz with a 0.8 power factor, while the capacitive load is verified at 50 Hz with a 0.9 power factor.
The system delivers 5% step accuracy and 3% overall loading accuracy, with a minimum resolution of 1 kW for resistive loads and 1 kVar for both inductive and capacitive loads.
For operation and monitoring, the load bank features both local touchscreen control and remote PC operation through a PLC-based control system with RJ45 Ethernet connectivity. The accompanying software supports steady-state, transient, manual, preset, automatic, step, constant-power, and power compensation loading modes. It also provides real-time parameter monitoring, safety monitoring, adjustable data acquisition intervals, graphical curve display, data storage and retrieval, steady-state data comparison, and test report export functions.
The Rata 4MW RLC Combined Load Bank is designed to simulate changing electrical operating conditions encountered in power generation and industrial environments. Multi-step loading, sudden load application, load shedding, and fluctuation testing enable users to evaluate generator voltage regulation and frequency regulation performance under varying load conditions.
The system is developed to support testing requirements in accordance with applicable Chinese national standards and IEEE testing requirements, providing a platform for performance verification during equipment commissioning and acceptance testing.
To support reliable operation, the load bank incorporates a comprehensive range of protection functions. These include emergency stop, short-circuit protection, overtemperature protection, smoke detection, fan interlock protection, airflow monitoring, thermal overload protection, automatic fan phase-sequence correction, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, door limit protection, earth fault protection, insulation failure protection, auxiliary power overvoltage and undervoltage protection, auxiliary power short-circuit protection, and protective circuit breakers.
The cooling system utilizes vertical forced-air ventilation combined with metal-protected louver vents and corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel heating elements. The airflow design supports continuous full-load operation as well as intermittent testing in laboratory and field environments.
The load bank is housed within a rugged container designed according to installation site requirements to facilitate transportation, deployment, and heat dissipation. The containerized structure is intended for use across factories, power plants, overseas project sites, offshore platforms, and other industrial environments requiring mobile testing equipment.
Manufacturing follows a structured production process beginning with material selection, followed by load module manufacturing, control unit assembly, heat dissipation system construction, circuit wiring, enclosure assembly, functional debugging, quality inspection, and environmental testing before delivery.
In addition to standard configurations, Deyang Rata Technology Co., Ltd. provides customization of system parameters and operational functions based on project requirements. Customers receive Chinese and English technical documentation, factory test reports, on-site commissioning support, and warranty services for domestic and international installations.
