Difference Between RCD Load Bank And RLC Load Bank

The data center uses a large number of computers, network equipment and other rectifier load banks, which makes the entire power system have obvious nonlinear characteristics, that is, the voltage and current do not increase or decrease linearly in a fixed proportion, and the resistance may change. This requires that the main power supply, uninterruptible UPS power supply, backup generator set and other equipment of the data center can adapt to the characteristics of nonlinear load banks and have appropriate peak factors.

To debug and detect the peak factor of the power supply, it is necessary to simulate the working state of the power supply of the data center with a non-linear load bank. However, most data centers are using the traditional RLC simulation load bank to debug and test the power supply. RLC simulation load bank has obvious linear characteristics, which can not fully reflect the performance of network power supply in real work.

The RCD nonlinear simulation load bank is pushed forward to replace the RLC load bank in the power supply detection of the data center. The key differences between RCD load banks and traditional RLC load banks include:

1、 The resistance value of RCD load bank is nonlinear and adjustable. Through the adjustment of special RS analog impedance loop, the load bank state is accurately adjusted to make the generator set or UPS work under the specified load state, so as to conduct accurate detection and understand the performance indicators of the generator set under different states.

2、 RCD load bank has independently developed upper computer software, which can input power quickly without tedious manual operation, and can realize automatic multi-stage continuous loading.

3、 Compared with the RLC load bank, the power and power factor of the RCD load bank have a wider adjustment range to detect the working capacity of the generator set or UPS when the load bank changes suddenly.

4、 RCD load bank can detect the dynamic electrical parameters of generator set or UPS, including transient voltage, frequency regulation, harmonic content, etc. In particular, it can detect the changes of key parameters of the power supply in the data center under different resistance values and power factors.
