Introduction Of Rata DC Load Bank Intelligent Test System

The Rata DC constant current load bank is designed for discharge testing, battery capacity testing, acceptance testing, battery maintenance and other testing of DC power supplies with load. The Rata DC load bank is portable, economical, easy to use and comes with smart software for data management, analysis and tabular reporting. Rata DC technology allows constant current discharge without any adjustment during testing. Rata DC loads have more than (75) standard models and 10-576V/0-1200A operating ranges for use in a variety of industries including utilities, telecom, UPS, power/forklift, transportation, CATV and more. Customized solutions available Program. The Rata DC Load Bank is designed to provide convenient and effortless discharge testing for any application.

Rata DC load banks have more than 35 standard models to meet your system requirements in a variety of industries. Standard DC voltages (nominal) include: 12 to 1000VDC. The current range is 0-600A. Two load banks can be connected in parallel for greater discharge range. Custom solutions are also available. Industries supported include utilities, telecommunications, UPS, power, transportation, and more.

Users can create custom reports with company name, contact person, test location, battery manufacturer, model, number of batteries and more through the included smart software. The data report provides test criteria, a list of the weakest cells, a graph of the weakest cells, string information, individual cell information, time stamps, discharge graphs, and an annotated area. Rata also offers AC load banks for AC applications.

Discharge testing is an essential practice for all critical backup battery preventive maintenance programs. Utilities, UPS, telecommunications, broadband, power and other industries use this practice to determine the true health of critical backup batteries. Load testing is the only form of battery testing to determine the actual capacity of a battery pack. Rata load banks are designed to provide convenient and effortless discharge testing for any application.

Load testing is a fixture in IEEE (450), (1188), (1106), and NERC (PRC-005-2) battery maintenance standards and is critical to preventive maintenance in many industries. The financial risks that can occur due to plant downtime, personnel safety, and severe equipment damage are so severe that load testing cannot be ignored. Utilities have been doing load testing where NERC standard PRC-005-2 requires preventive maintenance. PRC-005-2 requires capacity testing of battery packs for vented lead-acid (VLA) and nickel-cadmium batteries every six calendar years, and capacity testing for valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries every three years.

Load testing is becoming increasingly popular in the power field to evaluate forklift batteries and see how the battery performs while charging. Many forklift batteries undergo the industry standard 6-hour discharge test. The Rata Portable DC load bank makes forklift battery testing simple and easy.
